BIM and the Cloud – Requirement for Success – Best of Breed, Multi-User Access, Mass Customization

BIM in the Cloud is here… see Project NEON at http://labs.autodesk.com/technologies/neon/overview/

Supported Applications

Project Neon renders DWG files created by:

Best of Breed.   Data from multiple platforms (CMMS, CPMS, CAFM, GIS, BAS, BIM) mus “aggregate agnostically.”  The AEC spacemust integrate best of breed solutions in the BIM space. Agnostic integration is required in order to concurrently validate visualization, analysis, scheduling, construction and  facility management.

Multiuser Access. Multi-user environments are critical to BIM for FM success – Owners, Contractors, AEs, and Oversight Group at working at various levels with various views of information and relevant analysis tools.  Siloed domains must be elimanted in favor of “best-in-class” methodologies.  All faciliti data – data  geometry, location, condition, cost, etc.  must be concurrently accessible by very large groups.

Mass Customization. While data availability and data formats require open, standards based structures, tools to view, analyze, and use the information must be able to be easily customied to user/application requirements.
